These are inspired by the earring designs worn during the Mughal period.
The crescent, famously known as the 'chand' motif, is one of the most commonly seen motifs in Indian art, architecture and textiles. In jewellery, the design is referred to as 'Chand-bali'.
The name Chandbali comprises two words-Chand which means “moon” and Bali meaning “earrings”, with the crescent moon shape as the main element of design.
The Islamic crescent moon shape became a popular design with Persian artisans. The earrings were usually set with intricate crystals that were fringed with pearls.
Our design comprises a delicate pair of semi-circular earrings, hand crocheted with enamelled copper wires and embellished with a crescent of luxury crystals framing the bottom.
You have the option of choosing sterling silver, gold-filled or rosegold-filled earring hooks.
With some of the colour options where the wire colour is either silver, gold, rose-gold or black, we recommend that you select the same colour in the earring hook.
