Hand Knitted Necklace with Crystal
A delicate hand knitted enamelled copper necklace, in a graduated crescent design. This crescent style of necklace was a popular shape frequently worn by Mughal royalty, commonly made in gold, the outer-edges and body studded with colourful precious gems. This design is named after the persian empress Nur-Jahan, who's name translates as 'Light of the World'.
This colourway first made it's appearance at the Edinburgh Yarn Festival 2019, forming part of the 'Thistle' collection.
The piece is hand knitted with double entwined rose-gold & purple enamelled copper wire. It is designed to sit high at the middle of the neck, delicately curving around to the nape. The bottom line of the necklace sways and shimmers with heady amethyst crystal circular pendant drops. The thistle colour palette continues towards the top of the necklace, with vibrant fuchsia, olive and vintage-khaki bicone crystals.
The piece is 4cm wide at the centre, tapering to 1.5cm at the ends. The length around is 28cm extending to 31cm with rose-gold extender chain.
A beautiful necklace to wear for that special occasion.
The necklace will come packaged in a beautiful customised silver jewellery box with magnetic closure. Gift packaging can be requested.
