Hand crocheted necklace - Red
Hand crocheted and hand stitched boteh necklace using red enamelled copper wire, and accented with luxury matt red coral crystals.
The design motif known as paisley in the west is taken from the ancient Aryan boteh (botteh) motif. Boteh is a Persian word meaning bush, shrub, a thicket, bramble or herb.
The necklace has been designed to resemble a circle of boteh elements.
Each boteh (paisley) shape is crocheted individually and then linked together to give a sweeping shape to this very unique necklace.
The necklace is finished with oxidised sterling silver chain and lobster clasp.
The extender chain is decorated with a puffed sterling silver heart and a deep red crystal sweetheart drop pendant.
The crocheted piece measures 14cm (5.5") across and the chain measures 26cm, (10") extending to 30cm (12") - making the total length of the necklace 40cm (15.5") extending to 44cm (17.5").
